Sour Ops "Evangeline" CD
Sour Ops new album “Evangeline” releases July 12, 2024
Sour Ops is a Rock and Roll collective based in Nashville, Tennessee led by Musician, Architect and Photographer Price Harrison (The Botswanas, Sixty Nine Tribe, Snakehips). Musically, the band practices a guitar based sonic minimalism that recalls both early American proto punk and melodic riff oriented Power Pop.
Sour Ops’ new full length album “Evangeline” fuses American garage primitivism with a guitar based sonic heaviness. Sour Ops have a distinctive sound that is built on the foundation of what American teenagers were churning out in the garage in 1966. This is the fourth album the Nashville, TN based group has released since 2018.
Joining Price in the current lineup: Tony Frost (Snakehips, Sixty-Nine Tribe), a veteran underground Nashville musician plays bass. Memphis native Steve Ebe (Boxtops, Richard Lloyd, Human Radio) plays drums.
Featured musicians on “Evangeline” include: Paul Niehaus (Lambchop, Yo La Tengo, Vic Chesnutt, Silver Jews) on Pedal Steel (3). Mark Harrison (Tav Falco and Panther Burns, Snakehips) plays lead guitar (1, 7). Amanda Broadway (Amanda Broadway Band) delivers stunning background vocals & vocal arrangements.
